Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre) Privacy Policy
Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre) is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information that you may give to us in compliance with the Privacy Act, BC's privacy laws and the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
We do our best to record your information accurately, retain it securely, and use it according to your designated wishes.

CREDIT CARD INFORMATION IS ONLY KEPT TO PROCESS THE TRANSACTION AND FOR THE MINIMUM TIME REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH ESTABLISHED ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES, AND THEN IT IS DESTROYED.
When do we ask for information?
- When you contact us by mail, phone or email to request information about our organization
- When you contact us by mail, phone or email to reserve tickets for a show
- When you contact us by mail, phone or email to be placed on our mail list
- When you contact us by mail, phone or email to make a donation
- When you contact us by mail, phone or email to register for a workshop
- When you contact us by mail, phone or email to volunteer your services to Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre)
- If you are already in our database from previous contact, but have incomplete information
Why do we ask for information?
- To process the specific request you have made of us
- To be able to contact you if necessary (e.g. cancellation of performances, payment and other deadlines for workshop presentations, or, if we have a question about a merchandise order or tax receipt.)
- To better understand the nature of our audiences
- To make it possible to keep you informed about upcoming Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre) projects
- For YEARLY donor campaigns
Where is your information kept?
Your information is kept in our secure database which can only be accessed by authorized Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre) personnel. We do not share or sell our database information with anyone for any purpose. It is separately maintained with other confidential accounting records for the minimum period required to be in compliance with accounting principles.
Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre) protects personal information with appropriate security safeguards. Safeguards include physical, administrative, and electronic security measures.
NO CREDIT INFORMATION IS KEPT IN THE DATABASE.
How long do we keep your information?
- When we collect information, we keep it only as long as necessary to serve the purpose to which you have agreed.
- We rely on your cooperation for this to be effective.
- If you move, please notify us of your change of address so that we can re-direct information to you.
- If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, please let us know and we will honour your request.
- If you no longer wish to receive our information, please contact us and we will mark your entry as such and not contact you.
Access
You have the right to access your personal information under the control of Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre). The Privacy Officer will assist you with your access requests. In certain exceptional situations, Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre) may not be able to provide access to certain personal information that it holds about you. If access cannot be provided, Theatre for Living (Headlines Theatre) will notify you, in writing, of the reasons for the refusal.
